A loving family
"The space between us is our children's playground."
(Hedy Schleifer)
The show is an autobiographical family event that deals with the marital quarrels of us, the parents, from the perspective of our childhoods. The show is held in collaboration with family members - the creator and four "non-actors" - my partner and our three daughters (ages eight, ten and thirteen).
This is a show about relationships, quarrels and love within the family. A show about the volcano and chaos called a family in a dense space of desires, expectations and needs. It is a well-known rule that parents are not allowed to fight in front of their children, as children should grow up in a paradise of innocence and think that their parents
Theirs always get along. But the show takes place in the gap between the desired and the actual. The audience witnesses children behaving like adults and vice versa. The show takes place in the potential space between imagination and reality. In the space of children's play, it is possible, at the same time, to be a family, to embody it, and to have fun with it. In this space, play with realistic materials is possible.
